The Good Exchange | Partner
Lee Siew Yian and Cindy Kartika founded The Good Exchange (TGE), to help foundations and charities to fund raise, crowd fund, manage operations, organise missions, and give their time to the betterment of society in the region, from Nepal to Indonesia to Singapore and beyond. Siew Yian is Singaporean and used to work for Singtel. Cindy is from Indonesia and has worked in media in the past. Our collaboration with TGE has been a game changer for WAH. Siew Yian and Cindy are constantly raising funds from their extensive network of donors, for Covid-19 PPE supplies, mosquito nets during a dengue outbreak in KC, a de-worming program in 2019, BPA free water bottles for the children, clean water systems, and the cataract mission. As well as raising funds they always volunteer their time to be with WAH on the ground, helping with operations, planning and execution. Having Siew Yian and Cindy as partners is a dream come true!!
School Water Bottles : partnering with The Good Exchange to raise funds for 1,500 Cambodian students to get each of them a water bottle of good quality.
Thmor Kongkeb Primary School is located in rural Kampong Chhnang and in a poor condition. Most of the students here carry a recycled plastic bottle which is not hygienic. A lot of them raised hands when asked whether they had experienced having diarrhea.
Giving them clean water bottles means improving their health. Every $10 donated will provide four children with a water bottle each. Gift BPA-free water bottles for children in Cambodian rural communities to enjoy clean fresh water every day, all day!
Clean Water System Fund Raising : inspiring individual stories of support Emma Buan, 5-year-old artist from Singapore, sells her paintings and donates the proceed to WAH Foundation! Through her parents, Emma learns that many children in Cambodia fall sick because of drinking dirty water. She then wants to help build clean water systems in Cambodian schools so that the children can drink clean water. Thank you Emma for your kindness and generosity. Watch the video below to see how smart and kind Emma is!
"We all can do something with what we have," said Siew Yian, co-founder of The Good Exchange, who just donated one clean water system to us. She is an excellent photographer and created a calendar using the pictures she took, and sold them to support some charity causes—including WAH. She came to the ground and helped our technicians build the bicycle pump. Thank you, Siew Yian, for the wonderful work! You successfully impact 260 students in the school with clean, drinkable water.
Earlier today, SG Makers Against Covid-19 delivered 2,700 ‘Ear Savers’ to SingHealth to ease discomfort of prolonged mask wearing for frontline health workers. COO SingHealth, Mr Tan Jack Thian received the new batch of simple 3D printed devices, supported by SUTD students & graduates, as well as volunteer digital creatives - the goal is 10,000 for general & community hospitals, as well as polyclinic health centres. The group also presented an improvised ‘snorkel’ design mask for further evaluation - using adapted 3D printed parts, this would allow medical grade filters to be added onto the outlet, potentially offering full face protection. Siew Yian Founder The Good Exchange, Chris Wilson, Founder WAH Foundation & Lorraine Teo@SUTD initiated this campaign based on quick-to-react, smart tech solutions and social impact collaboration across higher education and digital industry communities.
