Background context : WAH EXCO 2018: A Big Year of social impact accomplishments behind us, our plan for the next 5 years promise to be even more ambitious. Supported by Cambodia MoH, more medical training partnerships with KK Women & Children’s Hospital, Mount Alvernia Hospital, Singapore MoH & YMCA ISP. New sustainable ‘train-the-trainer’ programs for midwives & newborn respiratory care will continue lowering fatality rates in rural communities. Generous partner support willl allow us to build yet more school clean water systems and provide life saving hygiene education. Expanded education scholarship programs to support young women to attend universities will strengthen opportunities for future talents in a growing, more independent local economy. Continuing WAH launch of Cambodia’s first riverboat ambulance service - a breakthrough for remote villages living on Tonle Sap.
Our newly proposed Emergency Medical Services initiative will provide immediate care & evac-treatment when most needed in Kampong Chhnang.
Orphanage young girl: Feb 2018 An incredibly inspiring & gutsy little girl, Nhanh, first survived abandonment in the jungle as a toddler, and then amputation after an infectious snake bite. Now, inspite of such traumatic experiences at such a young age, Nhanh is blossoming into a smart, confident and courageous young girl, supported by a new caring family in Kampong Chhnang, and about to receive the independence that comes with a modern prosthetic limb, thanks to a supportive #wahglobal donor. Secure & surrounded by people who genuinely care, Nhanh aspires to be a nurse or a teacher when she grows up.
